The Upper East Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba has taken a swipe at the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Antwi Bosiako known as Chairman Wontumi.

Alhaji Bolnaba has been mocked on several occasions by his political critics for his deficiency in the English language and thus makes him unequal to executives of the NPP.

However, Alhaji Bolnaba in an interview on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper with Samuel Mbura, said, if he had the opportunity to education like his colleagues in politics, he would not have been mocked on his “poor grammar”.

But opined that, he was far better than the Prempeh College graduate, Chairman Wontumi who manufactures his own English words and speaks unacceptable grammar.

“I know I no go school before, but I’m better than Wontumi because, he went to school and completed and cannot speak good English. If I also went to school like him, by now I will be speaking good English”

Alhaji Bolnaba, added that, his inability to speak English language proficiently can be pardoned because he had no formal education before unlike Wontumi.

He, indicated that, though he does not have any educational background to enable him speak fluent English language, he ‘consoles’ himself with Wontumi whenever he hears or sees him interviewed on radio or television, adding that, he can also speak the language better than him[Wontumi].

Nonetheless, Alhaji Bolnaba, has ensured that his children attained higher levels of education to make their lives better.

He revealed that, two out of his five children were pursuing law; some two have also obtained their Masters degrees while the younger ones were at Senior High School.

He therefore advised parents to invest in quality education of their wards and not deprived them their educational rights.
