UKANAEAST supports a year-old with GHC3, 000.00 to undergo medical surgery

The leadership of United Kassena-Nankana East, a youth group in the Kassena- Nankana Municipal of the Upper East Region has supported little Adeliyine Rodney with an amount of GHC3,000.00 to undergo medical surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region.

Adeliyine Rodney, a one-year-old boy is diagnosed of hydrocephalus-a buildup of fluid in the skull that causes his brain to swell and with spinal Bifida defect from birth further complicates his health condition making it difficult for him to function well as a child.

The group’s Public Relations Officer, Prosper Akulia, presented an amount of GHC3,000.00 to  the family of Adeliyine Rodney in the Pogmoligo Sirigu community to support the surgery.

“We believe that the life of the little child mattered most to us and therefore mobilized our members to source financial assistance for the medical needs of the child.

UKANAEAST is presenting a cash amount of Three thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 3,000.00) to the family to help foot the hospital bills.”

Mr. Akulia, further appreciated members of the union for their generous support for the child surgery.

“We particularly thank our members for the generous contributions made towards the support of this child. We further appeal to other benevolent organizations and individuals to come to the aid of the child.”

 Mother of Adeliyine Rodney,  Mrs. Gladys Atabo, however, appreciated the kind gesture shown by the group, adding that, her child still needs more financial assistance from the public to undergo the surgery.
