Upper East Regional Minister and New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Navrongo Central, Tangoba Abayage, has chided at the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) flagbearer John Mahama for touting as his achievement the construction of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.

According to Madam. Abayage, the NDC has no legacy in the region under the previous John Mahama led administration and thus will be disingenuous to claim credit for projects he never completed and put to use.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East ahead of a two-day working visit of the NDC’s running mate Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang to the region, Madam. Abayage, lash out at the NDC’s Mahama government for its dishonesty in claiming credit for the regional hospital.

“As She (Opoku-Agyemang) comes and is going round the region, I want to her to ask one question, ask the NDC in this region to name one legacy of John Mahama in the region.  So that, when they come for the main campaign, She(Opoku-Agyemang) will be able to mount the platform and say, when John Mahama was the president of Ghana, this is what we did for the people of the Upper East Region”.

“I have seen an artistic picture of the Bolgatanga regional hospital as an achievement of John Mahama’s government. I have been to the regional hospital and we are still using the old colonial structures still, the inly structure that is in use is the maternity ward which was built under the Kuffour Administration.

This regional hospital is not John Mahama’s legacy, is never Mahama’s legacy they are claiming it, even after claiming it they went and took an artistic impression I don’t know which hospital that is and they take it in their book and take it as an achievement”.

Madam. Abayage, reiterated that, the 2020 elections will be won based on the legacies of the NPP and the NDC, adding that, the NDC has no legacy in the region for which, it should be re-elected.

“The 2020 election campaign is going to be on issue based, it is not going to be whether you are a man or woman but it will be based on issues and legacies.

…And when they finished I will tell them what we have been able to do in the three years of the Nana Addo’s government for this region and they are unprecedented”.
