U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in Africa postponed

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has been compelled to postpone  the first round of 2021 Women’s World Cup qualifying matches due to the travel restrictions in several countries due to Covid-19.

A statement from  CAF reads: “Due to travel restrictions across parts of Africa as a result of Covid -19, the qualifiers for the FIFA Under-20 women’s world cup Costa Rica/ Panama 2020 scheduled for September 2020 have been postponed.

The Revised fixtures for the qualifiers will be announced in due course after consultations with various stakeholders.”

Africa is in search of two teams to represent it; the qualifiers will determine who goes to Costa Rica and Panama from 20 January- 6 February 2021.
