Bring your skills home to develop Northern Ghana- NDA CEO appeals

The Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Dr. Alhasaan Sulemana Anamzoya, has appealed to Northern Ghanaians in the diaspora to return home with their expertise and resources to propel the development of Northern Ghana.

Addressing a stakeholder engagement under the Northern Ghana Development Summit in Bolgatanga , Dr. Anamzoya, indicated that, it is prudent for those from the Savannah enclave to prioritize contributing in diverse ways in order to propel development in Northern Ghana rather than relying solely on central government’s policies.

“It is clear that government,national partners , NGOs and other organizations have continuously played a critical role in development in Northern Ghana . Apart from government and its partners in development,we also have a moral obligation to see to the closing of social and economic inequalities among us as Northern Ghanaians.”

Northern Ghanaians everywhere in the world have responsibility to come home with their talents , skills and financial muscles to assist develop Northern Ghana. At the same time ,we those Northern Ghanaians who are home must be prudent in handling a modest and spending resources that are sent to us by our siblings outside the country either to help them put up their houses or create business opportunities”

Commenting on the theme “Election 2020 and Covid-19; opportunities and challenges for the transformation of Northern Ghana’s economy”, Dr. Anamzoya, said, “Our judicious use of such resources can actually be the basis of trust building and development in Northern Ghana”.

The Northern Ghana Development Summit aims at bringing stakeholders together to brainstorm and suggest practical measures in dealing and addressing challenges stifling the development of Northern Ghana.

This initiative is under the auspices of the Northern Development Authority (NDA) with support from Star Ghana Foundation.

It brought together Political actors, NGOs and Traditional authorities with Council of State Member ,Prof. Yakubu Nantogmah Bo-Na as the keynote speaker and Chancellor for University of Ghana , Mrs. Mary Chinery-Hesse and Special Guest of Honour.
