Bolgatanga: High Court worker crushed to death by a taxi

A man said to be a worker at the Bolgatanga High Court has been crushed to death after a taxi cab with registration number GW 940 X ran into him at the Bolgatanga High Court Junction near the Shell Fuel Station in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.

The deceased whose name was only given as ‘Young’ was said to be on his way home after work on Monday, January 11, 2021, when he met his untimely death.

Speaking to this A1 Radio News, an eyewitness said the victim was trying to cross the Junction with his motorbike when the taxi on top-speed, heading towards Bolgatanga from Navrongo crushed him to death.

According to the eyewitness, the driver of the taxi cab was moving on top-speed and failed to apply brakes leading to the accident.

The taxi cab which plies the Bolga-Navrongo road had four passengers on board; according to another eyewitness.

He added that the passengers on board the badly damaged cab sustained varied degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for treatment.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Regional Hospital morgue for preservation.
