Music Producer and head of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey has been captured on a list believed to be President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for Deputy Minister positions.

Barring any last-minute change, Mark Okraku Mantey is expected to be confirmed to play the role of the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.

If confirmed, Mark Okraku Mantey will be working more with players in the creative arts and entertainment industry, and being an entertainment person, the expectation is that people in the creative industry, especially the Music Industry will be happy to have him.

Unfortunately, the leader and founder of the Shatta Movement, Shatta Wale is one person who is not happy with the nomination of Mark Okraku Mantey for the position.

“… Mark Okraku Mantey wey e dey there, wey they want make am Deputy Minister, they for stop that thing. Mark Okraku Mantey can’t help we o charlie. E be me wey a go fit help the Ghana Music Industry; I swear everything.” Shatta Wale fumed in an audio that was played on the Entertainment GH show on Neat 100.9 FM in Accra on Friday, January 29, 2021.

But reacting to Shatta Wale’s claim that he (Shatta Wale) is the only one who can help the Ghana Music Industry, the host of the Entertainment GH show, Ola Michael chuckled and said in a low tone: “… he should name three musicians that he has helped.”

Ola Michael also on that programme hinted that the players will regret pushing their own to the position of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Ola Michael said: “Just one year the industry will regret pushing their own there because he will be under-utilized. …”
