Sexual intercourse can make a driver sleep while driving – Driver advises his colleagues

A Bolgatanga based long-distance driver, Yakubu has advised drivers, especially long-distance commercial bus drivers to desist from having sexual intercourse a few hours before they embark on their journeys.

According to him, driving is a tedious job that requires the attention and alertness of a driver throughout the journey, and since sex saps out so much energy from a man, long-distance drivers should distance themselves from indiscriminate sex at their destinations.

It is a known fact and often, drivers have been ridiculed as having girlfriends and wives at every major spot along their regular routes. In many cases, these stories have been confirmed to be true, especially when drivers meet at their lorry station to tease themselves.

It may sound funny, but Yakubu believes that from the way many drivers get tired and doze off on the road in recent times, drivers are having rounds of sex before they travel.

He was speaking on a programme that a1radioonline.com monitored on Dreamz FM in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region on Thursday, when the station asked the public to suggest ways to curb the increasing rate of road accidents in the region and the country as a whole.

According to Yakubu he ever boarded a bus from Bolgatanga to Tamale and within a short distance, he realized the driver was dozing.

“… my brother, I was sitting behind the driver and I realized he was dozing. It was too early for him to be dozing. So I asked him to stop for me to urinate. When he stopped and opened the gate for me, I told him, my brother, you are sleeping; the driver did not argue with me and he asked me to help him. I am also a driver, so I drove from Wulugu to Tamale and stopped at the Agip Filling Station.

He was tired already before the journey, if he had a good rest in the night, he will not be dozing within a short distance into our journey that morning. … my brother, let me say some of us drivers, we like women too much, you know the following day you are traveling in the morning, when you sex that night, there is no way, even if you are driving in the day time you will sleep.” Yakubu said.

It will be recalled that two long buses crashed at Buipe in the Savannah Region, killing close to 20 people on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
