Ashanti Kotoko beats Karela to capture top position

Karela tasted their first league home defeat of the season against Kotoko yesterday.

Asante Kotoko ended Karela’s 5 years unbeaten home run by beating them 2 nil at Anyinase Sports Stadium.

Goals in each halves the game from Imoro Ibrahim and Kwame Poku proved to be vital which pushed the visitors on top of the league table

The scoreline means the Porcupines Warriors have now revenge the defeat they last suffered from Karela back in May 2018.

The first goal of the game came on the 38th minute when Moro Ibrahim scored a screamer to break the deadlock. Imoro Ibrahim feeds on a pass before burying a low shot into the net.

The second half saw the two sides knocking at each other’s doors before Kwame Opoku scored midway through the game to snatched all the 3 massive points for the “Fabu boys”

Kwame Opoku gets to the end of Emmanuel Gyamfi’s through pass and sets himself up with the goalkeeper before finishing off with a clinical low strike into the left bottom corner.

The win ended Karela’s 5 years unbeaten home run at the Anyinase Stadium and sends Kotoko on top of the league log with 23 points.
