An outspoken member of the governing New Patriotic Party’s communication team in the Upper East region, Naoh Thomas Yaab popularly known as Citizen Thomas has lash out at people in the BONABOTO zone for their act of “betrayal and ingratitude” after all that the NPP did for them in terms of development.

Citizen Thomas who could not fathom why people in the BONABOTO zone keeps voting for the NDC despite the neglect the NDC has shown to the area in terms of development.

Speaking on ‘Zina Yela’ program on A1 Radio, Citizen Thomas stated the BONABOTO zone and for that matter, the Upper East region would have gotten the needed development it desires if the people were appreciative enough by voting massively to the NPP in the 2020 elections.

“The kind of development for this region, especially, the BONABOTO area would have been massive. The people from the BONABOTO are ungrateful to NPP. The then Talensi-Nabdam district was created under Kufour regime but what did the people there do to appreciate the NPP, nothing. Since 1992 to now, the NDC has been wining in Bongo, but what have the people of Bongo gotten in return from the NDC, nothing? Bolga Central, Bolga East and Nabdam constituencies have all benefited in terms of development under the Akufo-Addo government, yet the people of these areas who are ungrateful have not been appreciative enough to vote for the party in the last election.”

The BONABOTO zone comprises of people from Bolgatanga, Nabdam, Bongo and Tongo.

Citizen Thomas added that the BONABOTO zone cannot hold the Akufo-Addo led government accountable if it fail to provide the needs of the people, after all, the people voted against the government in the last elections.

Out of the 15 constituencies in the Upper East region, the NPP won just a single constituency while the NDC secured the rest of the 14 seats.
