Outspoken Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga says the suspension of Samuel Koku Anyidoho by the NDC was long overdue.

According to him, the move was in the best interest of the party.

The NDC in a statement on Tuesday, signed by its General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia suspended the former Deputy General Secretary from the party.

This follows a petition against Mr. Anyidoho by some members of the party.

Speaking on the matter in an interview with A1 Radio, Mr. Atubiga said “I think it’s long overdue. It’s the best decision the party has taken. We’re in crisis right now trying to justify our case in court; somebody like Koku Anyidoho who has been a Deputy General Secretary of the party and onetime wanted to become the General Secretary of the party should know better that when the party takes a decision, we all have to follow – whether we like it or not.

So when the party is in court and you come out to make irresponsible statements chastising the party and making ridicule out of that; definitely they will suspend you as a member.”

He continued that “Koku Anyidoho as a matter of fact does not add any value to the NDC neither does he take any value away. He’s just like any other person in the party.”
