New Bolgatanga East District Administration block to be inaugurated soon – Ag. DCE

A new administration block for the Bolgatanga East District Assembly in the Upper East Region will be handed over to the assembly for use in the first quarter of 2021.

The acting District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Prof. Emmanuel Abugre Abole, who disclosed this in an interview with A1 Radio on Wednesday, said final works were being done on the magnificent building.

“With our new administration block complex, work is virtually done. According to my electrician, the one who came to fix the air condition is going to test them today and then the electrical aspect is complete; because light has already been dropped. Furniture has been fixed.”

Among other things, Prof. Abole said “We have about hundred conference chairs in the conference room. It’s a facility we will use to generate income and that will boast our IGF {Internally Generated Funds}.”

He continued that “Once we take custody, which will be very soon- maybe it won’t be up to a month; we will be moving into it.”

Estimated at a cost of GHc2,300,000.00, the new administration block is expected to provide office accommodation for all decentralized offices and other agencies under the Assembly for effective administrative work.

It situated at Zuarungu, the district capital- few meters from the current assembly block.The Bolgatanga East District was carved out of Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly under Legislative Instrument 2350 and inaugurated in March 2018.
