Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo has appealed to the government to come to the aid of pupils by providing furniture to the various schools in his area.

According to him, the inadequate furniture in various schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality is a big challenge to the quality of education policymakers and parents want for their children.

The Member of Parliament who spoke to the media after delivering 500 metal dual desks to seven basic schools in the municipality, said the situation is bad and needs collective efforts.

“If you visit some schools, especially in the rural areas and you happened to see pupils sitting on the floor to learn. …it tells you that we as policymakers and stakeholders in education have a lot to offer to these children.”

Despite calling on the government to as a matter of urgency come to the aid of these children who usually sit on the floor to learn, Mr. Adongo noted that the beginning of 2021 will be a year that he will start an initiative to provide furniture to deprived schools annually.

The MP assured also that he will liaise with other interested partners in education to renovate the old structure of the Bolgatanga Municipal Education office.
