MTN Ghana announces changes in its Board of Directors

MTN Ghana has announced some changes in the company’s Board of Directors with effect from March 1, 2021.

A statement issued by MTN Ghana said two members of the board, Kwasi Abeasi and Modupe Kadri have stepped down from the Board of the company effective March 1, 2021.

The statement said: “Mr. Kwasi Abeasi joined the Board of MTN Ghana in 2011, as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing a wealth of experience to the Board over his 10-year period of service.

Mr. Modupe Kadri joined MTN Ghana as Chief Financial Officer in 2014 and was appointed Executive Director in 2016, a position he held until February 2020 when he became a Non-Executive Director of the Company.”

MTN Ghana has however appointed some four new Independent Non-Executive Directors to the company’s board. The four are Felix Addo, Nana Ama Botchway, Kofi Dadzie and Rosie Ebe-Arthur.

The appointment of the four Independent Non-Executive Directors, according to MTN Ghana is in line with its aim of increasing skills and diversity in its human resources.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of MTN Ghana, Dr. Ishmael Yamson, has commended Mr. Abeasi and Mr. Kadri for their sacrifices and excellent performance while they contributed to the governance and oversight of MTN Ghana.

Dr. Ishmael Yamson in welcoming the four new members indicated that they are joining the board with diverse skills and from varying professions and was hopeful that their inclusion would enhance and strengthen the performance of the oversight role of the Board.
