The acting District Chief Executive for Bongo, in the Upper East Region, Peter Ayinbisa has called on the security agencies to as a matter of urgency devise a more robust system that can help combat robbery incidents in the area.

According to him, though the security personnel in the district are doing their bit in handling the crime issues, the security personnel in the district is not enough.

Mr. Ayinbisa made the comment after two mobile money vendors in Bongo-Soe community, a suburb of Bongo was robbed at gunpoint.

Speaking on A1 Radio, the DCE said the unfortunate incident shouldn’t have happened, as it occurred in a broad daylight.

“It was rather unfortunate to hear something like this. But I must say that the human resource of the police matters a lot in the district because the district has become vulnerable. So, I want to appeal to the IGP to consider posting more police personnel to Bongo.”

He however noted that for the time being, residents should take their personal security seriously and always be ready to share intelligence with the right authorities as soon as possible.
