Women Activist and the founder of Sung Biela Foundation Ghana, Zenabu Awinbe Ndebugri has joined calls for equity and enabling environment for women to bring positive impacts to Ghana’s development since women arguably have lots to offer.
According to her, women must be more empowered by their husbands and most especially leaders of Ghana by creating the necessary opportunities for them to succeed.
However, she believes women are trying hard to overcome such obstacles.
Speaking on Day Break Upper East Show on A1radio as Ghana joins the rest of the world to celebrate International Women’s Day, Zenabu said, “…of late there have been workshops and conferences for women empowerment, and so women are now trying very hard to come out with something they can do hence the call for support from men and leadership [to change the narrative] is highly anticipated”.
Sung Biela Foundation Ghana over the years has embarked on philanthropic works in the Upper East Region. Some women and widows in various communities have been beneficiaries of the foundation.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March around the world. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights. The 2021 celebration is on the theme: ‘Choose To Change’.
