Gradually the Bolgatanga Astroturf at Dagmweo in the Bolgatanga Municipality in the Upper East Region is becoming a reality.
If completed successfully, the Bolgatanga Astroturf will be the first of its kind constructed by the government in the Upper East Region.
From an unsuccessful green grass field awarded in 2019, the contractor on Saturday, March 13, 2021, started spreading the artificial grass on the field.
It is expected that the Bolgatanga Astroturf will be handed over soon to be used by the public and clubs in the region.
The new football field is replacing the old bare ground field at the then Mobile Sports Complex.
It is part of Football fields awarded on contract by the then Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo Development, during the tenure of Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Sadique.
