The Former Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central Constituency, Inusah Fuseini has said that there is no group in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) known as Cadres for Accountable Leadership (CAL).

A group of people calling themselves Cadres for Accountable Leadership held a press conference on Tuesday, 23rd March 2021 threatening the Former President, John Dramani Mahama to within fourteen (14) days publish the collated results for the 2020 Presidential Election or face their wrath.

Speaking on ‘DayBreak Upper East’ program on A1 Radio, the Former Tamale Central Legislator quizzed the so-called group whether the Formal President is the electoral commission where they could demand accountability from.

The legal luminary dispelled their affiliation to the party stating that “Although there are Cadres in the the NDC but the group that held the said press conference on the 23rd March, 2021 are not known in the party.”

He said, “There is no like Cadres for Accountable Leadership. They could not have been cadres in the proper definition of the word, as I speak now we were the last batch of cadres and you know I’m not a young man. We were the last batch of the cadres. They could assign that name for themselves but they could not have been cadres in the proper definition of the word within the context of the NDC and PNDC. Well I don’t even know them. I just read about them I don’t know them.”

Mr. Fuseini added that any member of the party who was not happy with any happenings in the party could have sought information from the party’s leadership instead of taking to the street.

He dispelled claims that the NDC did not do a parallel collation of the 2020 presidential election results. He stated that the party has collated the results and that informed their decision to seek legal redress of their dissatisfaction in the Supreme Court of the republic of Ghana.

He has therefore called on the general public to disregard the claims of the so-called group calling itself Cadres for Accountable Leadership because they are a group of people pursuing their own interest but not recognize by the party.
