The paramount chief of the Bawku Traditional Area, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II has asked government to urgently complete all ongoing projects in the Upper East Region to facilitate growth.

According to him, the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom road, Tamne dam, and others are paramount to the growth of the people, hence the need for urgent attention.

The Chief’s spokesperson, Patrick Adukudugu made this known when the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu paid a courtesy call on him at his palace on Tuesday 30 March 2021.

“We will continue to urge the government to consider as a matter of urgency the need to complete the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom road, Tamne dam, and a district hospital for each of the districts without district hospital.”

He stressed that the Tamne dam project if completed will help solve the unemployment situation in the area.

He also called on the government to see the importance and the need to complete all township roads in Bawku as well as creating a by-pass road that will erase the movement of vehicles and commuters.

Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu was very hopeful that the government will do its bit in tackling their grievances, added that they should seek first peace and unity.

He however assured the people and the chief that he will channel their request to the right institutions for quick action on the projects.
