The NDC Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has said he was not in Parliament House when the minority MPs joined the majority side to approve Ken Ofori-Atta as the Finance Minister.

The approval, he described as disappointing and said he was not on the floor of Parliament that day to register his disappointment.

In an interview with Starr News monitored by A1 Radio, Isaac Adongo said such a justification was not the best as a majority of Ghanaians know that Ken Ofori-Atta causes all the wrongs in the financial and economic sector in Ghana.

He said: “That day I was not in Parliament, I didn’t want to be seen as endorsing somebody I believe is a scam in Ghana. Ken Ofori-Atta all the wrongs with our financial and economic sector of Ghana are caused by him. I am the last person to endorse such a move.”

He stressed that he wanted the records to show that he did not endorse the finance minister’s appointment nor support him in the vetting committee in Parliament.

Meanwhile, some supporters of the opposition NDC have expressed similar sentiments over the NDC members on the Appointments Committee for supporting the approval of Mr. Ofori-Atta.
