In an interaction with the assemblyman of the Kukuo electoral area, Mohammed Mutala, he told A1 News, that the deplorable state of their road network coupled with poor drainage system makes the area unmotorable.

He said one can only access the road during the dry season but in the rainy season, it is inundated with water making commuting of people and transportation of goods cumbersome.

Mr Mutala further adds that his electoral have been deprived of development for long because they do not have access to their share of the national cake.

He disclosed that the Member of Parliament for the Tamale South Constituency, Lawyer Haruna Iddrisu is currently undertaking some works on the major road at Kukuo Yakura area of the electoral area but the minor roads are left untouched.

The assemblyman said some houses in the electoral area were demolished to pave way for the construction of the road and have been abandoned which is a worry to residents of the area.

Mr Murtala, blames the inaccessible road network on its untarred stage which is very pathetic.

He appealed to urban roads, the Tamale metro assembly and their Member of Parliament to come to their aid to complete the road project.

The Kukuo electoral area is divided into two parts the Kukuo Yakura and Kukuo Yapala which form part of the Tamale South Constituency.
