Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry appeal for Smock Village in Upper West

The Upper Regional Branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has appealed to the Regional Coordinating Council to help it establish a Smock Village in the region. 

According to the chamber said the establishment of a Smock Village will help in coordinating the activities of the industry for enhanced productivity and also serve as a one-stop-shop for those who are interested in doing the smock business. 

The Upper West Regional Chairman of GNCCI Alhaji Salford Iddrisu stated this when the executives paid a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih at Wa. 

The executives congratulated Dr Bin Salih on his reappointment as the Upper West Regional Minister and thanked him for working to create a conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive in the region. 

The Chamber said the smock industry is developing very fast in the region therefore the need to find names for some of the clothes that are produced in the region to reflect the culture and traditions of the people. 

The Upper West Regional Manager of GNCCI, Jerimiah Tingan called for effective collaboration between the Chamber and the RCC to enable people of the region to benefit from the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area. 

Mr Tingan entreated the RCC to involve the executives of the Chambers in business-related issues that are discussed by the RCC so that they can educate their members to benefit from such policies.
