The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in the Upper East Region has registered 380 people for the Ghana Card Pin since its inception on April 1st, 2021.
Speaking exclusively in an interview with A1 Radio, the Office Manager of the Domestic Revenue Department in Bolgatanga, Bismarck Shaibu noted that his outfit hopes to see more people coming for the card since it will be the only device that can prove the nationality of Ghanaians.
Mr Shaibu encouraged that everyone who does not have the national card should try and get the Ghana card because it will become difficult in the future to transact business especially when it comes to tax obligations which can greatly impede the progress of a business.
He asked those who have not registered for the Ghana card in the Upper East Region to come to the GRA office to get registered.
It could be recalled that at the beginning of April this year, stakeholders from the revenue department of the GRA came out with an initiative that aims at replacing the Taxpayer Identification Number with the Ghana Card Personal Identification Number, the purpose was to reduce the number of cards held by individuals.
