The newly constructed edifice to serve as the administration block for the Bolgatanga East District is near completion.

The 23 office space facility commenced in November 2018 with funding from the District Assembly Common Fund.

The caretaker District Chief Executive, Reverend Emmanuel Abugre Abole while briefing the Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government and Rural Development indicated that the project which is about 95 percent complete when handed over, will improve the delivery of staff who are currently struggling for office space in an old refurbished facility.

“The technical people say the project is 95 percent complete. It is hoped that it will help improve our delivery when we take it over.”

According to Rev. Abole the assembly block was awarded at a total sum of Ghc2.448 million and later revised to Ghc 2.944, 371.15 million and payment to date done to the contractor is Ghc 2.459,538. The caretaker DCE added that the provision of furniture to the assembly block cost Ghc 498, 250.00

Despite the swift nature in which the project was executed, Rev. Abole lamented the lack of corporation from the contractor which has resulted in some minor defects which are yet to be fixed.
