The Ghana Armed Forces and allied security services as part of their efforts to combat crime and counter-terrorism in the country are embarking on an exercise dubbed Eagle Claws 2021 in the Northern sector.

The exercise is a four-day field simulation training aimed at testing and preparing participants of the ongoing Operation Conquered Fist to ensure efficiency in their roles and missions.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces in the Northern Headquarters, Captain Nathaniel Asamoah who spoke on Daybreak Upper East show on A1 Radio said in recent times the issues of terrorism have been drawing closer to the borders of Ghana hence the need for the exercise.

Captain Asamoah said the five-day exercise which will take place across the five operational areas of the north simultaneously is to bring its personal up to speed with the threats of terrorism that have been witness in neighbouring countries.

He however added that the public should not be scared when they see their men at various communities because it is a normal routine exercise that they engage in to prepare to deal with any threat of insecurity.
