Communications Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, Ayillah Apegyine Tabitha has called on the sector minister in charge of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta not to relent on contractors who execute their works poorly.

According to her, government through the ministry is spending huge resources in the roads sector and should not allow unscrupulous contractors to outshine such efforts.

Mrs. Apegyine, who spoke on Day Break Upper East show on A1 Radio regarding the willingness of the NPP led government to break the eight-year chain noted that, good road networks are all part of the thematic areas Ghanaian voters usually used to assess any government “…therefore the government should be vigilant on the contractors for quality work” as it begins its roads constructions in the second team.

She stressed that, some contractors based on their greedy ventures and love for shoddy works sometimes undermine the efforts played by the government to amass wealth for themselves.

“…I’m appealing to government through the road and highway ministry to deal with any contractor who executes his/her work poorly. As we seek to break the eight years’ chain, I expect the ministry not to show mercy on any unscrupulous contractor who will not do his work well.”

Meanwhile, the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta at a press encounter in Accra on May 23, 2021, noted that the ministry under the government has earmarked on massive road constructions in various parts of the country.
