Final year students of Gowrie Senior High Technical School in the Bongo District have been asked to go home indefinitely.
This decision was taken after a crunch meeting between school authorities and the Bongo District Security Council (DISEC) today.
Students rioted and destroyed properties of the school and vehicles belonging to the Ghana Police Service.
The demonstration was triggered by the punishment of a final year student by a teacher which his colleagues resisted in solidarity leading to scuffle.
No arrests have been made so far by the police.
