UE/R: Police caution public against ancient magical bottle fraud

Upper East Regional police command has cautioned the public to desist from going in search of a ancient mysterious bottle believed to contain spiritual powers that make people rich.

According to the security agency, it has picked up intelligence that a group of people along the Garu and Bawku zone are defrauding people under false pretense of helping them to purchase a magical bottle that enables them to expand their businesses and acquire wealth.

Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service in the Upper East Region, ASP David Fianko-Okyere, who spoke to A1 Radio said they have received information that for some time now, some people are made to believe that there is an ancient bottle which can be found in the Upper East Region especially Pusiga, Garu, Bawku and it’s environs that if you have it and is dealing with cross border crime you will not be caught by security agencies.

ASP Fianko-Okyere said, they laud people into the Upper East Region specially Garu where a motor rider will meet the would-be buyer of the ancient magical bottle, where he is taken to the no man’s land between Ghana and Togo border, where they claim the bottle is found in a shrine at a place call Koungo.

The police PRO said Koungo is a border town where this fraud is happening at the Togo side of the border, where they are made to pay huge sums of money.

DSP Fianko-Okyere advised the public to be aware of the tactics of these criminals and do fall prey to them.
