Persons with disabilities not sacked as claimed by class 91.3fm – Ministry of Roads and Highways clarifies

Ministry of Roads and Highways has refuted claims that persons with disabilities employed by the Ministry to sell tickets at the various toll booths across the country have been sacked.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Roads and Highways to all media houses, refutes claims by Class 91.3 fm morning show host Kofi Oppong on Tuesday 8th June, 2021 alleged that persons with disabilities who are engaged to man the country’s toll booths across the country have been sacked by a private company Toll and Routes Management Limited (TRML).

It went further to state that Toll and Routes Management Limited (TRML) only manages 20 out of the 38 toll booths while Ghana Highway Authority manages the remaining 18 toll booths.

The statement, signed by Edmund Offei-Annor, Chief Director of the Ministry of Roads and High way states that TRML currently employs 190 persons with disability while the Ghana Highway Authority employs 98 persons with disability.
