Angry residents of Bolga-Soe, a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality led by the assemblyman for the electoral area have cleared some chippings on the Bolgatanga – Bongo stretch of road in the Upper East Region.
According to the residents, the chippings are causing accidents on that stretch of road while there is no sign of work starting soon on the road.
Lambert Akumzebe, the assemblyman for the area in an interview with A1 Radio said, the chippings are dangerous and are causing accidents on the road.
He said, some people have already lost their lives on that road because the contractor decided to dump the chippings on the road without warning signs.
He described the actions of the contractor as death traps and they cannot stand unconcerned while lives are lost daily.
He said “the contractor has not come back to see what his what his trap has caught, but he hasn’t come back to see what his trap caught”
Several calls have been made to get the attention of the contractor Ibrahim Bugri to clear the chippings or to either work on the road as they are causing accidents have been recorded on that stretch of road
