President Nana Akuffo Addo has expressed disappointment and regret about the results of the 2020 general elections in the Upper East Region.

According to the President, the results of the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections brought disappointment to him and the entire New Patriotic Party (NPP) because upon his love and the massive developmental projects and policies which the region benefited from in his first team in office they voted against his party.

Speaking on URA-Radio in Bolgatanga and monitored by A1Radioonline.com on his working visit to the Upper East Region, the President expressed considerable amount of regret as the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) secure 175,400 voters representing 34.44% as against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 322,317 representing 63.29% in the Upper East Region.

He said, “Is true that the results of the election in Upper East was some of the most disappointing for our party and for myself personally across the country, it’s a matter of considerable regret. We believe we put in a lot of work, I think you mentioned some of them in terms of our contribution to the development of the region, apart from that, they were a lot of political work that was put in by us in the Upper East Region.

I think this was the region that I visited the most among the sixteen(16) regions of the country in the cause of my first team, but the people of the region took a different view from us, both the quality of our work and the support of our political projects so it must be a considerable regret for me”

Meanwhile, the President noted that, the NPP will continue to sell its message to the good people of the Upper East Region, because they believe in the future, they will have a better response from the people of the region reason he visited the region as the first region in the year to thank the people.
