Fire guts Bachongsa teachers’ quarters in Builsa South District

Information reaching A1radioonline.com has it that the Bachongsa Teachers’ Quarters in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region have been gutted by fire as on the weed hours of Monday 28th June 2021.

Though the cause of the fire is yet to be identified, information has it that the said quarters were recently renovated and handed for use.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Dr Clement Apaak in a post copied to A1radioonline.com said that “Earlier today I got a call from my branch executives in Bachongsa and later, Danda, the contractor who renovated the Bachongsa teachers quarters informing me that the teachers quarters recently renovated and handed over was in flames.”

“Though fire tenders arrived from both Sandema and Fumbisi, and the firemen and women did their best, the damage was severe. Thankfully no life was lost and no injuries sustained by the teachers, students or community members in the vicinity.”

Thanking the Almighty God for no lives lost on the sad incident, the MP assured that he will dispatch a team to visit and assess the damage while waiting for an official report from the District Director of Education and that of the Ghana Fire Service.

“I will dispatch a team to visit and assess the damage as I await an official report from the District Director of Education and the Ghana Fire Service. Also, I thank the Fire Service for their swift intervention, given the distances from both Fumbisi and Sandema.”
