Upper East Regional Communication Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sanusi Issah has said, the security apparatus of the state must investigate comments made by the National Zongo caucus coordinator of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alhaji Cole Younger.

A statement purported to be coming from the NDC National Zongo caucus coordinator Alhaji Cole Younger calling all Zongo communities across the country to take part in the ‘March for Justice’ demonstration organized by the youth of the NDC that took place in Accra on 6th July 2021.

According to the alleged statement, they are several incidences of assaults that Muslims have suffered at the hands of the New Patriotic Party-led administration, therefore participating in the ‘March for Justice’ demonstration will help them register their displeasures with the government.

But speaking to A1 Radio on Day Break Upper East show, the Upper East regional communication Director of the New Patriotic party Sanusi Issah has described the statement as unfortunate and dangerous to the peace of the country.

According to him, the NDC National Zongo caucus coordinators’ statement needs to be investigated by the security because the statement has the potential of planting the country into chaos as the statement appears to incite the Zongo communities against the NPP government.

He said “For you to say that the muslims are the target, it is something that I don’t wish that anybody at all will try to make an attempt to rationalist what he said. It is a dangerous statement that we can not allow it to go scot-free, I will just be glad if after this demonstration the security agencies call him for interrogation.

Because if we allow some of these things to pass, these are some of the pity things that we do, the time we realize it will generate to something that we can not control.”

Mr. Sanusi, questioned the National Democratic Congress legacies in the Zongo communities which they want their participation in the party activities including the demonstration against the government.
