After months of legal tussle, the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) says it has reached an out-of-court settlement with a member of the association, Caroline Boateng, in the matter of “CAROLINE BOATENG VRS THE GJA PRESIDENT & ORS” to pave way for its elections next month October.

The case of the plaintiff which was filed in May this year was that the GJA executive led by Roland Affail Monney had overstayed their tenure of office which was expected to end in November 2020.

The suit thus forced the GJA to hold on to its elections.

But according to a press statement from the GJA on Friday, signed by its General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah, “The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has reached an out-of-court settlement with a member of the Association, Caroline Boateng, in the matter of “CAROLINE
BOATENG VRS THE GJA PRESIDENT & ORS” to pave the way for the GJA national and regional elections to be held by October 3, 2021.”
