Private Legal Practitioner and Host of Joy FM’s weekend current affairs analysis programme News File, Samson Lardi Anyenini, has dismissed long held speculations that he had intention to contest for a parliamentary seat in the Upper East Region.
There have been speculations over the years that the 2019 journalist of the year was lacing his boots to join partisan politics in his home constituency, Bolgatanga East.
But responding to the issue on A1 Radio’s DayBreak Upper East show on Tuesday September 14, 2021, Mr. Anyenini said even though he had received calls to contest either on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he has not yielded to such calls because he does not have plans now to join partisan politics.
Mr. Anyenini stated that he can continue to serve the country without necessarily being a politician.
“I get people call me often from home and it is that they need me to come and contest elections and its been that for so many years. In fact at the political leadership; at the level of both parties, I have had approaches made to me that look; we think you are a worthy ambassador of the region where you come from, so we could help you to go and get a seat and I tell them I can serve my people and serve my country without getting into partisan politics.” He said on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East programme,
