President Akufo-Addo has nominated the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 elections, Rex Asanga, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bolgatanga.
This was announced by the Minister for Local Government, Dan Botwe, on Sunday September 19, 2021, in Accra.
Mr. Asanga’s nomination is subject to the approval of the Municipal Assembly.
Ahead of his nomination, the two- time defeated parliamentary candidate told A1 Radio in an earlier interview that he has the solution to the problems facing the Bolgatanga Municipality.
He believes he possesses the qualities to change the face of the Upper East Regional capital.
If confirmed by the Assembly, Mr. Asanga will be taking over from Joseph Amiyuure who served as the MCE for Bolgatanga in the first term of President Akufo-Addo’s government.
