As October has been set aside globally to create awareness on breast cancer, a Midwife at the Bolgatanga Municipal Health Directorate, Mary Azika, has advised married men to see it as a matter of necessity to regularly suck the breasts of their wives to prevent their partners getting breasts cancer.
Mrs. Azika underscored the need for married men to take a keen interest in helping their spouses examine their breasts as that was a recipe for winning the fight against breast cancer.
She encouraged men to routinely accompany their wives to hospitals for proper examination of their breasts. She was however quick to add that women who, due to one reason or the other, are unable to visit the hospital for checkups are at liberty to examine at home with the aid of their husbands.
“We are even encouraging that if any woman is coming and your husband has time, you can come with your husband so that whilst we do, we teach the man how to examine the breasts so that the man can help you do it at home. Men should suck their wives’ breasts. They should suck their wives’ breasts. They should suck to prevent their wives from getting cancer”, Mrs. Azika said in an interview on the ‘Reporters’ Visit’ program on A1 Radio today.
She also admonished women to wholeheartedly welcome exclusive breastfeeding; this she believes is another essential ingredient to fend off breast cancer in women.
Mrs. Azika concluded by cautioning both males and females to refrain from smoking and drinking since those acts provide a breeding ground for breast cancer infection.
