A combined team of engineers from GRIDCo, Tamale and Bolgatanga, are currently on site to resolve the power situation at Zebilla after a rainstorm brought down a pylon in the area. The GRIDCo Line Maintenance Team was led by Mr. Lawrence Yeboah, the Area manager of GRIDCo. The team is to work to secure pylon #188 while awaiting the arrival of a 30-tonne crane from Tamale.
Meanwhile, plans are underway to engage a number of NEDCo’s sub-contractors to erect temporal poles (aluminum) to restore power temporarily. According to the staff of GRIDCo Zebs FM spoke to, this will allow them enough time to build a new pylon (tower).
Consumers within the Kusaug Area and beyond will have to keep their fingers crossed for at least 24 hours more to have electricity restored.
