Government’s agenda 111 kick starts in Upper East Region

The government’s agenda 111 has started in earnest in the Upper East Region. Out of the 15 municipal and district assemblies in the region, 8 assemblies have been earmarked to benefit from the project.

The agenda 111 is a government of Ghana-funded project to construct hospitals in districts without hospitals, regional hospitals in the newly created regions, two specialized hospitals in the middle and northern belt.

Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu during a press soiree on Wednesday announced that sod was cut in the Binduri district on December 1st, 2021 for the commencement of a 60-bed capacity which is expected to complete within 18 months period.

Mr. Yakubu said construction for the remaining 7 districts; Builsa South, Garu, Tempane, Pusiga, Kassena-Nankana West, Nabdam, and Bolgatanga East districts will start at an appropriate time.

The objective of the project the minister added hopes to improve health delivery at the local. The regional minister commended chiefs and opinion leaders in the region for allocating sites for the implementation of the government’s agenda 111.
