2021 NPP Delegates Conference: We must preach harmony, unity – Obiri Boahen

The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen has said the euphoria around this year’s Annual Delegate Conference to be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region is in the right direction because of what the Conference is expected to give rise to.

He said the Conference marks the ‘watershed’ into various positions right from the constituency level to the ultimate; the race to lead the party in the 2024 General Election. Lawyer Obiri Boahen explained that soon after the Conference, the NPP will see to the election of executives for the Polling Stations, then the Constituency Executives.

The elections will then move to the Regional level and then to the National level where National Executives will be elected and then finally the election for the position of Flagbearer will be held.

He was speaking to Samuel Mbura on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East in Bolgatanga. Lawyer Obiri Boahen urged the delegates to into the Conference with an agenda to unite, develop and strengthen the party stressing that “we must preach harmony and unity”. He discouraged conversations around personalities who may or may not be involved in the flagbearership race.

He described the Conference as a prime opportunity for delegates to make informed inputs into the direction of the party. The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was however unhappy that with 91 resolutions to address, the party has only a day.

Meanhwile, some eight thousand delegates of the New Patriotic Party are expected to converge at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on, Sunday, December 19, 2021 for the party’s Annual Delegate Conference.
