The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nabdam, Agnes Namoo has set a ground of unison for members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Constituency.

The steps taken include; bringing together party polling station executives, Constituency Executives and party elders to a common ground to deliberate and iron out differences within the party as the year ends.

It is public knowledge that the Nabdam Constituency has suffered from internal party divisions that have dwindled the NPP’s electoral fortunes for the past years.

Though some steps have been taken to bridge this deep-seated rift among party members in the Constituency, it is clear some differences still linger as manifested in the confirmation of the DCE three months ago where some party members allegedly orchestrated the rejection of Agnes Namoo on the first sitting of the General Assembly of Nabdam.

It is in this regard that the DCE organized an end of year party for the party’s leadership to come together to dine and raise their challenges to be addressed going forward into the next year in order to solidify the gains of the party.

Addressing the gathering at her residence yesterday, Madam Agnes Namoo urged party leaders and members to put behind any difference that has the tendency of destroying the party and rather concentrate on the interest of the party.

According to her, breaking the 8 of the NPP with Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia will not be possible if individual interests are not buried.

She added that ” unity among as a party is the only way for us to move forward and champion the agenda of our government in bringing development to Nabdam. I, therefore, urge everyone to look at the interest of the party first than our individual gains. Remember that we have the agenda to break the 8 with Dr. Bawumia and our actions will determine that”.

The DCE further noted that ” my doors are always opened for us talk about our challenges and how we can solve them”.

The Regional Minister,Stephen Yakubu who was also present at the party, expressed regret about the NPP’s performance in the 2020 General elections and impress upon the party elders and members to look for solutions going forward in the upcoming 2024 elections.
