The Community Development Alliance (CDA), led by its Executive Director, Salifu Issifu Kanton has supported four women at Loggu; a farming community in the Upper West Region.
The women will be supported while they undergo a 3 year-long vocational and apprenticeship training in dressmaking.
After the training, it is expected that the women, would become financially independent and be in the position to contribute towards to economic development of their immediate families and the communities they find themselves in.
According to Mr. Issifu Kanton, “the vocational skills training and empowerment programme of CDA for young women is part of our agenda to Break the Bais by unleashing the creative potential of girls and young women and promoting equal rights and opportunities for all. These young women hitherto would have been a burden to their families and society but are now empowered with skills to better support themselves and their families”.
