The Kassena Nankana West District Chief Executive, Atoagye Gerald has noted that the government’s Agenda 111 project will help reduce the health burdens of residents.

According to Mr. Atoagye, the District has faced numerous challenges in terms of accessing health care due to the limited number of health facilities in the District. He said the Agenda District Hospital will be a life-saver for local folks and neighbouring communities for Burkina.

Speaking to A1 News, he stated, “considering the nature of the project, if it is executed to the fullest, I think our health needs will be satisfied. You know this is a border town and you can imagine the influx of people from Burkina who will access health care here”.

.”It is actually a huge project that the people; stakeholders, Chiefs, we are all happy about. I am not the only one doing the monitoring, the chiefs do come here. So with this, I think our health needs will be satisfied,” he added.

He further explained that, because the hospital would have accommodation attached to it, health practitioners would be motivated to stay in the District to deliver health care.

“The East, North and Paga Health Centre definitely there are challenges in accommodation not all of the health workers are close to the facility and some Nurses are renting, so definitely this project will solve the accommodation issue” he buttressed.
