Education though is key to success, access to education at the rural level continues to be a struggle amongst basic school pupils.

Inadequate reading and learning materials, furniture et al are the many challenges school pupils have to deal with on a daily basis in their quest to have quality education.

Given that, Deeper Life-AiD of Deeper Life Bible Church of Ghana in the Upper East Region has rendered support to 10 needy but brilliant pupils in Upper East and North East Regions.

The initiative drew these pupils from 10 basic schools within the two regions to fine-tune their quality education and knowledge of God.

Speaking to the media after the donation, the General Overseer of Deep Life Bible Church of Ghana in the Region, Pastor Archibold Ako-Nubeng, indicated that the initiative does not only seek to promote quality education amongst the pupils but boost their confidence in belonging.

“The Church believes in the total education of a child not only of the mind but of the heart. We know that if we educate our children just secularly without touching their hearts, they will be educated criminals. That’s why we are taking this initiative to touch these needy hearts and to let them know that we are all concerned about their education. Also, we will help them to know and practise God’s way,” he said.

He further indicated that the initiative will span to next year as it is an annual basis activity that targets needy but brilliant students in communities.

Items donated include reading books, notebooks, school bags and other learning materials.

One of the beneficiary pupils, Seidu Sylvanus of Bind Junior High School in the North East Region thanked the supporters for their kind gesture and pledged to make good use of the materials received.

He also entreated his colleague beneficiaries to see education as the only way for them to achieve their goals in life.

The gesture brought together the parents, church elders and members as well as teachers and authorities from the Ghana Education Service.
