A communicator with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region has described the work of the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu as hollow and one with a substantial lack foresightedness.
According to the communicator, John Paul Danka, the Minister, Mr. Yakubu since his appointment has failed to meet the development needs of the region as his predecessors did.
Mr Danka who spoke on the Daybreak Upper East show on A1 Radio said Mr Yakubu has failed to further the work his predecessors started.
“Estate roads are hanging, what has he done to add? Nothing. We have serious needs in the region; what is he doing? We have a lot of uncompleted projects all over and we expected him to be doing something on them, but nothing. The Chuchuliga road and other roads are hanging. His works are hollow, nothing is happening,” he added.
Mr Danka stressed that the minister’s failures stem largely from the lack of broad consultation.
“The Minister should have been up with the MPs in the region on how they can collectively realise development in the region, not the one-man thing as he’s doing. Development is a collective effort, but are we seeing that, no. So, how can we grow as a region? Our chiefs are key stakeholders, mobilizing them to meet with the President or those who can help realize that growth for us would have been a great deal. Just like what his predecessors did, but what are we seeing the opposite. How can we grow?” he quizzed.
