Two traders have been shot dead following a robbery attack on Monday evening on the Zebilla-Binaba stretch of road in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.
According to reports, the robbers mounted roadblocks close to a river about 6 kilometres away from the Zebilla township and attacked their victims.
The victims; Jacob Apandago, aged 25 died instantly while Ateni Ndaugo, aged 30 who was in critical condition was rushed to the Zebilla district hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Fianko-Okyere noted that the perpetrators will soon be brought to book as a full investigation has been launched.
