NPP Constituency Elections: One person in Bolga dies out of shock after preferred candidate loses

One person was confirmed dead yesterday after results for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Chairman position were announced. Information available to A1 NEWS is that the late Paul Amaliba Azika, an Assembly Member of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, collapsed when his choice of candidate, Awudu Asonya, failed to secure the nod as the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Chairman.

The late Amaliba Azika was rushed to the Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Confirming the incident to A1 NEWS, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the party, Lawyer Anthony Namoo said the supporter collapsed during the declaration of the results.

“My condolences also go to Bolgatanga Central. I understand that after some results were declared, one of our party members collapsed and unfortunately lost his life. That goes to show how people can emotionally invest their minds, hearts, and thoughts in the party. It is our prayer that God will grant him good rest. He died fighting for a course that he believed in,” he said.

Still on the NPP election, the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Youth Organizer elect, Michael Adombire has appreciated the efforts of the delegates and called for togetherness among party members for a common goal.

In the Talensi Constituency, the newly elected Constituency Organizer, Maxwell Chilembalem said he has confidence in all the newly elected executives. He believes said the current executives will do all that they can to take back the parliamentary seat from the NDC.
