NPP reorganisation: Charles Ndandon announces intention to contest UE Regional Organizer position

Charles Taleog Ndanbon has declared his intention to contest the Upper East Regional Organizer position of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) when the party opens nomination.

His declaration has ended months of speculation that he intends to contest the position again. Mr. Ndanbon contested the party’s regional organizer position in 2018 with five other contestants. He secured 100 votes while his close contender, Jerry Asamani obtained 107 votes to become the current Regional Organizer of the party.

Making his intention known in a statement copied to A1 NEWS, Mr Ndanbon said he hopes to address “the concerns of the grassroots by advocating for them” if he is given the mandate to serve the party.

The NPP in the Upper East Region went into the 2020 general election with 3 parliamentary seats but lost all. It however managed to snatch only the Binduri constituency seat which was previously occupied by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The former Nabdam Constituency Organizer and Financial Secretary respectively, said he is a grassroots person who can reorganize the party to recapture the lost seats and win additional seats in the region for the NPP.

“Reconnect the government to the party grassroots, especially the youth. Champion Man considered this as a necessity. Connect the grassroots to opportunities (jobs, scholarships, relief programs, and more). Reorganize the party to recapture the lost seats and win additional seats in the region. Reorganize the party to contribute towards breaking the 8”, he stated.

The NPP stalwart believes he has what it takes to mobilize resources and logistics for the party to break the 8 years in government.

He used the opportunity to congratulate elected constituency executives of the party and admonished those who could not make it to remain resolute for the party to remain in power.

Mr. Ndanbon who pleaded for the support of party members to serve as regional organizer called for unity among party folks.

DECLARATION OF INTENT

BY HON. CHARLES T. NDANBON

UPPER EAST REGIONAL ORGANIZER HOPEFUL.

I write to declare my intentions to run for the Upper East Regional Organizer position in the upcoming regional congress to serve my fellowmen, party and country. I am a firm believer of “an act of service to men is a service to God” and I have always strive to serve my fellow men at the least opportunity. It is against this backdrop that I beseech your support to organize the grassroots and mobilize resources to break the eight and recapture the lost seats.

Let me be quick to highlight specific things I intend to do if given the opportunity to serve.
1. Reconnect the government to the party grassroots especially the youth. Champion Man considered this as a necessity.
2. Connect the grassroots to opportunities (jobs, scholarships, relief programs and more)
3. Reorganize the party to recapture the lost seats and win additional seats in the region
4. Reorganize the party to contribute towards breaking the 8
5. Addressing the concerns of the grassroots by advocating for them. These and many others.

Before I proceed, I would like to congratulate all the elected constituency executives on their victories. To those who couldn’t make the mark, congratulations on your tenacious act of taking the initiative and availing yourself to be considered to serve your party. I would also like to appreciate all the delegates for their support for the last four years, thank you for your sacrifices and commitment.

Secondly, I would like to use this circular to admonish those who couldn’t win their portfolios not to consider this as a loss. At the end, our great party won and we must never relax. It might not have gone as planned but consider those who believed in you and voted for you and never let them down. Let’s unite and continue to work together to recapture the lost seats and ultimately towards breaking the 8.

Thirdly, the sad reality is that, our great party is not in good shape in the region as evidence by the number of seats we lost in the 2020 elections and needs reorganization. We cannot do this when we are divided. A people united is a people of indomitable spirit who cannot be defeated. Let’s burry every difference and continue to work together and reorganize our party to recapture all the lost seats.

The need for us to channel our energies, efforts, commitments and resources is even greater than before if we indeed want to break the 8 and recapture our Parliamentary seats that we lost in the 2020 elections.

For us to be able do all the aforementioned, we would need a unifier and a grassroots person as the regional organizer to enable us to market the party towards victory. And I believe that I have the capacity to mobilize the grassroots, logistics and resources for us to break the 8 and win more seats. I am also confident that I will be able to live up to the task and attend to party problems, especially those affecting the grassroots.

To the greater percentage of our grassroots who have not benefited anything from the government, I would like to encourage you not to give up on the party but revive our spirits to breaking the 8 and afterwards, we can demand for what is rightfully us. Once a Patriot, always a patriot.

Once again I need your collective support, endorsement and advice to see this vision come to fruition. Let’s come together and do it once again.

Thank you.

God bless us all.

Long live the Upper East Region
Long live the great NPP

……………….Sealed……………….
