The Director of the Centre for Nation Culture in the Upper East Region, Elizabeth Adongo has encouraged workers to look beyond the structures of their workplaces and aspire to greatness.

According to her, workers should focus on how to promote and keep the heritage and indigenous art of the region, irrespective of the challenges face.

Speaking on May Day held in Bolgatanga, Mrs Adongo told A1radioonline.com that though her department needs support, she believes collective efforts by workers and the government can help improve the system.

“We ought to keep faith with the government and do our best at our various workplaces. Though some of our office spaces are not in shape, I know the government is doing its bit in that regard. Let us put in our best, let us safeguard our heritage, our indigenous art for children yet unborn. If we play loosely; that’s not keeping path our heritage or culture, because of our workplaces then our children will one day fault us for doing little,” she said.

Meanwhile, workers of the sector were spotted holding placards that read, “cultural fund is a game-changer”, “resources the national commission on culture”, “construct a befitting arts centre before relocation” et al.
