The suspended General Secretary of the Peoples National Congress (PNC), Janet Nabila has been arrested by the Nima police for breaking into the party headquarters.
There has been internal wrangling within the party since last year. This has led to the party’s headquarters being locked up by the police as two factions of the PNC fight over who can have access to the building.
It took the intervention of personnel from the Nima Police station to restore calm at the Abavana Junction headquarters in Accra The police thus closed down the office and took the keys.
The PNC suspended General Secretary, Janet Nabila, with her group went to the police commander, saying they had won the court case and could have access to the headquarters and took the keys.
On Sunday 1st May, 2022, Janet Nabila broke into the headquarters and scattered the offices of the 2020 flagbearer of the PNC, David Apasera, the newly appointed general secretary, Prince Agyemang Duah, the national chairman of PNC, Moses Danibaah.
Currently, Janet Nabla is in the custody of Nima Police pending further investigations into the incident.
